Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions released 15 years ago today on April 22nd, 2007 in North America. I fondly remember going to Best Buy on April 22nd, 2007 after a track meet that evening to pick up Pokémon Diamond Version. Extremely fun game. The sprites and graphics were a a very nice upgrade from Gen 3's Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Versions. I also fell in love with the relaxing and atmospheric soundtrack. The physical/special split of types was a fantastic addition to the series and one of many great things about it. The new Pokemon designs like Torterra, Garchomp, Porygon-Z, etc. are also some of my favorite in the entire series. Sinnoh was such a great and intricately designed region with many caves and dungeons, twisting roads and turns, and tons of optional side areas.

I remember reading the leaks about Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions from Serebii on MFGG back in September of 2006 right before they released in Japan and became so hyped about them that I couldn't wait. The introduction of online trading and battling was also awesome. I loved trading for version-exclusive mons and helping evolve my Kadabra, Rhydon, etc. with fellow MFGGers. I remember we had DP Wi-Fi tournament that July where we split into two teams. That was pretty fun. I would also upload my Pokémon Diamond Version team to Pokémon Battle Revolution on the Nintendo Wii to battle against other MFGGers in awesome 3D.

I have a lot of wonderful and nostalgic memories with these games. Overall, great games, a great generation, and the last generation I really loved Pokémon.

Also, Super Paper Mario released 15 years ago in North America on April 9th, 2007.

You know, Diamond and Pearl were the games that made me fall out of love with the franchise. Then HGSS brought me back for a bit. I heard Platinum improved a lot, I need to check it out sometime.

It has a kickass soundtrack though!
