Please be honest. No one's gonna arrest you anyway! But you can spoil it if you want, just in case:

I have a modded Wii, so... maybe.

Absolutely. Nowadays mainly to check out whether I like a game or not.
For example, I wanted to see if I'd like Stardew Valley, so I went and found a copy of it and played it. About an hour later I deleted the pirated version and bought it outright because I was super impressed with it and I have no regrets whatsoever.

If I do, it's usually for a game that I owned in the past but have since lost or something.

Last time I pirated a video game was back in 2010. I purchased the said game (Serious Sam HD) soon afterwards.
I could be remembering wrong however. Oh right, I recently "pirated" Blood in form of BloodCM sourceport. Maybe doesn't count, because I already got it on Steam.

I only think I ever pirated something once back when I was 12. Seeing as though you could only purchase Minecraft through PayPal, and with the website being in Swedish, it was a no-go for my parents so I resorted to getting a cracked version. Thankfully gift cards came out later and I could get the game legitimately.
I thiiiiink that's the only instance I've done it, but there might be something else I'm forgetting.

Minecraft, using the TeamExtreme launcher. I'm still using it to this day.
LOTS of NDS ROMs, using the R4 cartridge. And other ROMs. (gameboy, gbc, snes, nes, genesis...) Also cracked terraria using a download i found on the net, but i don't play it anymore. I'll post more if i remember.

Yes, please do tell.

Only Super Mario Kart, Which I own but can't get it on my laptop for hacking
12-26-2017, 06:07 PM
Yes, but only when I want to see if the game is actually worth buying. So basically it's like playing a demo.

quite a lot actually because I'm poor
but I usually pay for the games afterwards if I enjoyed them Lando Never Dies pfp by Plasmi

Not for a long time. The last I can remember was either Sim City 4 or Civ III, though both came into my legal possession later.
In the early to mid 2000s I pirated more games and software, but it was honestly kind of a pain in the butt. All those warez sites were sure hit and miss.

These days, I try to obtain software through legitimate channels when possible. I can't say I've never downloaded commercial ROMs or old PC games, though.
@Retriever II That's another reason why I don't pirate stuff - most warez sites are really sketchy. Course clear! You got a card.
Isn't this against the rules?
Anyway...i can say that back in the early 2010s i've cracked several Steam games i got interested in playing, until in 2016 my dad gave me his credit card for christmas so that i bought ny first Steam game with my own money. Actually, there's like many games i got from my friends who gifted me them, and with my new credit card, i didn't have to worry about pirating games anymore. In regards to "crack to legit" transitions, I remember i used to have a cracked Civilization IV and later on after getting the Firaxis Humble Bundle in Jan 2016, i obtained Civ 4 for good along with Civilization V, also cracked before. ...except some softwares that i really need a good use of them.

Not many. Usually just games that are no longer purchasable from any real legitimate venue (Jazz Jackrabbit, for instance, until recently).

Years and years and years ago I tried to guess the registration code of a Mac game. I started with AAAA and just went from there.
I soon gave up, cause I didn't realize there would be BILLIONS of combinations. Seriously, even just with a four-character code, you would have A to Z, and 0 to 9, that's 36 things. 36^4 = 1.6 Million! And registration codes are typically pretty long.

I try not to, but if I own the game or owned it in the past I usually will. Some older games are also just very difficult to come by, so in that case I will.

Thats interesting to think about. I really wanted to play games I played when I was a teenager, I got a few and I'm reliving the awesome times I had. It' absolutely amazing that all I needed to pay was $60. That was for the Wii I play on... work better end soon cause I really want to go home and play!!! |
