So this new Donkey Kong game came out. You can jump, collect bananas and destroy lots of stuff, like what little sense the Mario timeline had.

I really like it so far! It's fun, inventive and creative. Plus the [spoilers oh my gawd], oh man.

Although I got a S2, I'm holding off on Bananza for a while. I know that I'll enjoy it once I get to it, but I'm currently grinding time trials in MKWorld right now, trying to improve my ranking on the Player's Page. Plus, I'm one of those gamers that have the tendency to acquire games faster than I can play them, so I'm trying not to spend too much money right now.

Although, the fact that almost everyone is talking about spoilers (whatever they are) has really gotten my interest.

I don't have a Switch 2 yet, but I'll probably give it a try eventually. I hope I can stay reasonably un-spoiled before I play it.

And yeah, from what I can gather, this game really takes a hammer to the idea of continuity or consistency - even by the standards of a game series that rarely prioritizes such things!

It's far from a perfect game for me, but nevertheless it's very entertaining.
I hope I can stay unspoiled.

Since he made this post he claims his opinion of the game has gone up. So there's that.

I've finally beaten the game and while I still think it's very inventive and creative, it feels very un-Nintendo-ish. Kind of messy, though in a fun way. The ending sequence in particular is a highlight. Good God.
I make games with my friend DJ Coco sometimes. Check them out here: https://cliax-games.com/
