I found this website by a link at the bottom of smwcentral, and I can't believe I never heard of this website before. Why doesn't this show up on Google?

Because it's not very popular.
If you look up “Mario fan games”, we’re literally the top result*. >_>
But good to have ya around! Nice to see affiliations workin’ out. *In the eastern United States of America. Google results may vary depending on country and language

@Aaendi Welcome to MFGG! I hope you enjoy your stay here. There's some tasty beverages in the fridge, so feel free to help yourself.
I'm glad to know that people look at affiliate links. We thought they might be useful, but we never knew for sure if people really used them. Every day, dozens of people find MFGG through Google searches. However, lately I've been experimenting with some things that might improve our SEO, which will make MFGG easier to find in Web searches. And as Dustin mentioned, search rankings can differ by language and location. Course clear! You got a card.

Search rankings are also tailored to the user! And there's so many different search engines these days that its all a mess of complications to get your site to have better SEO

MFGG has historically always been a bit of a niche site, but it has definitely gotten various brief activity spikes over the years. The most famous one was when we got (slightly incorrectly) mentioned on G4's "Attack of the Show" - keep in mind, this was back when cable TV was not only still a highly viable source of new media, but also when G4 still existed!

Oh, now I remember. I used to download games here back in 2004 and 2005. I didn't know this place was still around.

They claim that clearing the sprite attributes table and rebuilding it every frame takes too much CPU speed, when it's actually much faster than trying to write around nonmoving sprites.

@dustinvgmaster
Yeah, I had a hard time describing it. I tried to say that it's quicker to build the sprite attributes table from scratch each frame, instead of trying to selectively changing bits and pieces of the sprite attributes table each frame.
