Since there's a lot of hype for Smash I'll be choosing my picks for who I think will be in Smash:

- Shantae
- Sans
- Shovel Knight
- Bandana Waddle Dee (yes please)
- King K. Rool
- A Cappy Costume for Mario
- W A L U I G I
- Toad or Captain Toad maybe
- Another Kirby character like Rick
- Another Sonic character like Knuckles or Tails
- Possibly Phoenix Wright?

Anyways, that's all my picks. What are your picks?

Waluigi is all I need. I can't think of any other character I want badly. Toad would also be fun but I would rather have Waluigi if it came down to the two.
It'd be cool to see Impa and a character from Arms. Also I'm sure nobody else agrees with me but I'd like to play as Tom Nook. It'd be hard to come up with a moveset since all he does is sell and buy things, but I just really like him despite him forcing me to work for him when I was a child.
I hope Link and Zelda get revamped movesets, considering Link's look is being updated and Zelda's probably will be too.
Pauline as an assist trophy would be cool.

I dunno why everyone wants Sans. I loved undertale but it's a small, indie game with obscure characters who will never end up in the likes of Smash Bros. It's starting to annoy me almost as much as people who want Goku or Shrek or some other random stupid character.

Tell you what I want, not so much new characters as updated movesets that reflect the plethora of games that've come since a lot of those movesets were made. Mario should not be using the cape or FLUDD, I'd like to see a moveset that revolves around Odyssey, or at the very least some Galaxy moves like the spin attack. Link is based on his BotW look in this game apparently, so I hope he has a moveset that reflects that. Wouldn't it be great to switch between weapon types such as big heavy Goron Basher type weapons, back to a Trident or the Master Sword, and have a recovery based upon Revali's Gale or something. Same with Zelda as said above.

Also speaking of Link, I want LESS clone characters. Wii U was better for this, but I don't want to see BotW Link alongside Standard Link, Young Link and Toon Link. I always hated that Brawl had Fox, Falco and Wolf because they were all basically the same.

I'd also love to see them take alternate outfits to a new level. With Mario Odyssey showing how good it is to be able to switch outfits, I'd love to see alternate outfits that actually change your look rather than your colour. I don't mind that Peach has Daisy colours, but if they're gonna do that they might as well give her Daisy hair as well.

As for characters I'd legitimately love to see:

- Rayman. Ubisoft has a good relationship with Nintendo and I can see either Rayman or a Rabbid being in Smash thanks to that relationship. Hopefully the former.
- Bomberman. Pretty sure Bomberman R did well for Konami and he's been on Nintendo consoles since the NES days. I think it's time, plus he could have an amazing moveset based around the different types of Bombs and things from other games.
- King K. Rool. You gave Mii's an outfit based on this, lets go the full K. Rool
- Waluigi. We've got the other 3 bros, lets finish the set and evolve him from the illusive assist trophy. Come on!
- A character from ARMS. I dunno if this will happen but they have the perfect movesets, lots could be done with them.
- Maybe Chibi Robo? It has its own amiibo and it's obscure enough. Could replace ROB. There's plenty there for a diverse moveset using its plug or helicopter etc.

Shantae and Shovel Knight I can't really see happening but I've been playing all the Shantae games lately and think she'd be great. I don't care much for Shovel Knight but there's no denying it's done well on Nintendo platforms. If it has its own amiibo figurines then it's a much more likely candidate than a lot of other games.

As for your other picks, I think FLUDD and spin jumps would bring back memories of the old mario days, along with Cappy, as I've stated. I agree with you on Link and Zelda.

As for your picks:

All three characters, Rayman, Crash, and Banjo all have chances appearing in smash imo.
Bomberman is possible, don't have much to say on that.
I've stated Waluigi, K. Rool, and Arms would be pretty good, I mean they ARE fighters.
I would like to see a Chibi-Robo costume for ROB.
Yes, Shovel Knight has been doing good recently, and yes it has an amiibo.

If Link is being redesigned in his moveset as well I think toon link would be close enough to the classic link moveset to not warrant classic link being a separate character in the roster.
I don't think most people are attatched enough to Zelda's moveset to really care if the old one stays, but if it does I imagine it'd be in the form of Toon Zelda which I wouldn't mind. It would just be weird to have two links and Zelda's that are not in a completely different style like the wind waker link and zelda are.

I agree that characters should be updated in their movesets. I'd like them to still play and feel similarly to their current play style but be revamped to keep up with the times and add some freshness to the games veterans. It'd also be nice to see character's looks be revamped as well. From 64 to melee to brawl we got some really interesting redesigns so that would be cool to see again. This could be done while still having the characters look like themselves. I liked the slightly more detailed but still cartoonish look melee had going.

Also another adventure mode. Brawls adventure mode was far from perfect but it was so cool to see all the characters interact. I'd love to see a new adventure mode that builds on the foundation brawl's set and has a more comprehensible story and more variety in enemies and nicer environments.

If that happens and Waluigi is added I'd be happy. And Tom Nook I really want him.

The reason why Sans has so many requests is because

- He's getting ported to the switch
- Undertale had a recent port to Japan
- Sakurai admitted he had played the game

Those are poor reasons. Sans is simply a small part of a bigger game, a bit-part character who really only appears if the conditions are right. There's LOADS of games getting Switch ports and I'm pretty sure Sakurai plays lots of games. Hell you'd more likely see Goku in Smash if that's your reasoning due to Switch ports of Dragonball fighting games, except he's far more popular a character, the main character overall and isn't just mildly popular meme fodder, doomed to die out in a few years.

I don't care to see Sans in the game either, but admittedly that's mostly because I know a lot of annoying Undertale fans and I don't want them to be happy.

I've also seen a surprising amount of people speculating that the main character from minecraft will be in the game, which is something that I really hope does not happen.

I want Mona pizza and mikes song to return as well for soundtrack. Those were the best songs in the game and they were removed for some reason after brawl.

- Rundas from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. 'Cause he's cool, he'd have a totally unique moveset, and to be honest I don't care much for Ridley and just want more Prime representation over Classic. It would also mean that in addition to Goku Dog and Gohan Ryu, we would now have Ice Vegeta in the game.

- Shantae. All of her games have come out on Nintendo systems, and her genie transformations lend themselves to a varied and unique moveset quite easily. Or base her off her Pirate's Curse appearance where she used Risky Boots' equipment instead, which was also fun (and my personal favourite game), but that might work better for Risky Boots as a playable character herself. Why not both, though?

- Shovel Knight. Super-successful game, cool design, and by using the Relics his moveset and abilities are more than varied enough for a Smash appearance. Spectre Knight would be a good second character.

- Travis Touchdown. Before Bayonetta made it into Smash I would've said no way in hell would this guy ever get in. Well, now, Travis totally has a chance to shine. It also means we would get some No More Heroes music in Smash which mmmyeah I'd love that.

- Krystal. Hey how about a Star Fox character that isn't just "blaster-deflector-fire boost" for once? Give her the staff from Adventures, maybe a weapon or two from Assault.

- Urbosa or Daruk from Breath of the Wild. Daruk would be a pretty cool "big strong guy" to represent Zelda with, and Urbosa's just badass with lightning powers. I don't say Mipha because she's focused on being a healer (but Assist Trophy Mipha would be way coolio) or Revali because he'd be a Falco clone.

- BRING BACK SNAKE. I miss him and he was my favourite Brawl character.

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

I don't mind Mario characters since it's called Super Smash Bros, but the roster should definitely not have so many Fire Emblem characters. Lucina was a total waste of a character seeing as we had Marth and Roy too.

Also if I may make one request that I've been making since Melee was announced, PLEASE give Ganondorf his own moveset, using his SWORD.

New characters I'd like to see:

• Waluigi. Nintendo has always used him as a character in party games, and since Smash is a party game of a sort, I'm kinda surprised he hasn't been playable yet. This could be a good opportunity for Nintendo to break him out and expand on his character a little more
  
• Shovel Knight. I'll let what others have said and his game speak for themselves :p
  
• A little bit of bias here, but Braixen. A character with a fire-based moveset could make for an interesting change/mix, plus the phoxy pokemon is quite popular, both in the franchise and out
  

Changes I want to see:

• Give lucario a small buff. His jab is pitiful in Smash 4 and 61 frames of endlag on landing out of free fall from his recovery is waaay too much
  

• Remove rage. This is coming from a person whos smash 4 main benefits immensely off the mechanic; it's not good for a competitive environment. Characters like sheik can tack on insane amounts of damage really fast but she has virtually no kill power outside of reads and setups, and if the player is good at avoiding those, then they can kill her as early as 40 and lower, and other characters such as Samus, Mario, and Rosa can kill at 0%, but this also leads into...
  
• Fixed knockback/autolink angles. Fixed knockback is one reason why Rosalina is so powerful when she has luma, and it makes fighting her much more stressful and difficult than it needs to be. Autolink angles are things like Fox's f-air attack, which he can abuse to get near 0% kills by fast falling after the 3rd hit which will drag the opponent down and then he footstools them. Speaking of Fox...
  
• Slow Fox down a little. His neutral game is way too fast and he has too many safe/reliable kill moves/confirms, plus his vortex combos. His b-air can break a full shield in 4 hits, it autocancels way too early, it's very safe on shield, and it's immensely strong on top of all this. His u-air needs to be fixed somehow too. It likewise autocancels too easily and combos into itself at least 4 times depending on the victim's size and weight. There's also the fact that Fox has at least 3 ways to confirm into a kill move and his recovery is way too good, especially compared to Falco. Fox needs a nerf.
  
• Remove RNG untechable situations. When a character is above 99%, there's a completely 30% chance that a move they're hit by will send them into a spin animation. This can not be teched, and when hit by a weak move that nevertheless knocks the opponent into a spin animation, it leads into guaranteed kill confirms for characters such as Fox, who needs to make little commitment for a low risk high reward situation.
  

• Put Dr Mario, Lucina, and Dark Pit as alt costumes for Mario, Marth, and Pit. I just feel like these were wasted slots, personally XP
  

• Give Mario and Luigi their vintage costumes
  
• Give Wario some more Wario Land moves (Shoulder bash pls ;_; )
