Suggestion: make the alert number disappear after you open the modal

The default behavior of MyAlerts is kind of weird; the red number doesn't go away until you actually click the alert. Usually what people expect with a notification system is for the number to disappear as soon as they've opened the notification box (think Facebook, etc)

We fixed this on Minus World; I don't really remember how but we got it done. So it could be something to think about

I agree, especially when it comes to notifications about a like on a post. It's a bit annoying to have to jump to the post that got a 1-up in order to make the alert go away.

Yeah, MyAlerts has some weird and slightly annoying quirks. If you know of any way to improve it, please let me know.

The alert number was just bodged in because I had no time to figure out a better solution. Get someone in here who knows what they're doing and I'm sure they can sort it out.
