Something I did when my NES decided to die, while I was waiting for new parts to arrive to bring it back from the grave.
We have a custom airbrushed, Stereo output modded, Expansion audio enabled with variable volume, Selectable Tri-color LED modded, NES.
I did all the work on this myself, and was able to improve on the tutorials for the stereo output mod.
The knobs on the right side control stereo separation, by mixing in Mono. They are set up so that the RCA outputs can produce full stereo separation, OR full mono through both jacks. This also prevents the sound mod from backfeeding through the default mono output on the console.
It also eliminates buzzing and popping created by the expansion audio channels mod, when playing games that do not support this channel.
The knob on the front controls the volume of the expansion audio channel. This is used for games like Castlevania 3 (Jap), Esper Dreams, Lagrange Point, and Famicom Disk System titles. Among others.
Hidden on the underside of the system are also 3 switches to control the color of the power LED.
Colors available are Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, White, and can even be turned off.
