I was playing Mario's Return to the Lost Levels, an old, obscure fangame by Shadow (link). I made a comment on the main site a while ago, about an oddity that has prevented me from making any further progress. I decided to post this on the forums since I figure it would be more noticeable.

Here's the issue: Whenever I reach the goal in the castle level, I get kicked back to World 3. When I do it all over again from that point, I still go back to World 3. I've probably went to the castle level 3 or 4 times in one game. I had suspected that I have to get a certain score -- I got almost 5000 once. Nevertheless, it still keeps happening.

I'm wondering if anyone knows the solution to this. Is there a hidden goal or is it just a glitch and the game is unbeatable?
