How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected your energy, motivation, creativity, and productivity when it comes to making games?
Like all of you, I've had my ups and downs during the pandemic. I've been to far fewer social gatherings, and working from home every day has saved me about 90 minutes of driving every day. That means I've enjoyed a lot more free time to work on my games - both fangames and indie projects. I've probably made more progress in the past year than I'd done in the 2-3 years prior.
I haven't had the time or willpower to program every day, but I've found that working in "sprints" has been pretty effective - I'll work fairly intensely in my free time for a couple of weeks to code and test some new features. Then I'll take a break for a week or two and work on something else.
I certainly don't want to spend every second of every day programming (considering that I'm a developer as my day job), but I hope I can keep up this positive momentum once COVID-19 fades away.
