Metroid Prime 2D: The Tallon IV Project.
Lead developer: TobiMikami circa 2014 - Present.
Built using the "EMPyRE 2D Metroid Prime 2D style remake engine" also made by TobiMikami specifically for The Tallon IV Project.
Engine is functional and mostly built, my most recent video showcases the last Prime 1 function to be installed; The Wavebuster. It also shows the first use of beam bounce deflection, though missile deflection has been a thing for a while now. Also shows updates to various Metroids AI, the Bendezium that I drew and textured, fission power bombs, and more videos on my channel show the games amazing water, more enemies and tiles, beam specific doors, all types of cool stuff.

The Tallon IV Project begins after Metroid 1 on board the derelict frigate Orpheon, a Science research vessel with sinister secrets. The gameplay mechanic is the same as Metroid Prime, there is no dialog forced upon the player, except via item pickups and HUD-based informational systems, which will include the ability to opt in to a built in hint system, which gives the player a clue as to the whereabouts of the next linearly recommended item for the easiest and most efficient playthough, although this may only be one way, more sequence breaking routes will be available for more skilled players.
Players who choose to scan Pirate Data terminals will find out the game's overall storyline which is similar but by far different from Metroid Prime. Your mission updates in real time as you uncover the deeper layers of complexity to the mounting troubles on the beautiful Tallon IV. While the frigate starts out sinister and foreshadows future encounters, the beginning phase on Tallon IV is delightfully serene, as you reach the overgrown Chozo Ruins, you discover the society of old, long gone and the messages they've left behind. They tell of the coming of the Phazon meteor and their fight to contain it, as well as "The Occupation" as the Pirates descended upon the planet to harvest this energy source.
You'll also discover new advanced weapons systems, like the Fission Bombs shown off in the video. Scan data will explain how the Pirates studies on Chozo power modules has both failed and succeeded, and intentions to use these to create Phazon based weaponry, the first successful project of this nature is found in the Phazon Mines, which is the fission bomb, a Power Bomb powered by a phazon based thermonuclear reaction. These bombs are insanely powerful and few creatures can withstand one. Beyond this point the game explains the significance of The Tallon IV Project and the origins of the Metroid Prime on Tallon IV. These lore were meticulously re-written from the original NTSC as if Prime were a standalone game, clearing up the misleading and confusing points, and those created by the sequel rewrites as well. It is expected to take at least a year to complete an initial public release. A private demo will be out soon. Check my YouTube for the full array of videos as I only link the newest one. Cheers metroid fans.
