Without Luigi, we'd only have Super Mario Bro.!
Course clear! You got a card.

That's true, he puts the s in Bros.
This question varies depending on the game. At first he was just there as a second player, but now he's become his own character with his higher jump and slippery shoes, and even his own personality. We wouldn't have Luigi's Mansion without him.

Of course he js. We need variety and Luigi is super funny and cool. He's the underdog and certainly more interesting than Mario. (Had to say it )

Maybe Luigi doesn't want to be a mario bro. Maybe Luigi just wants to open up a small breakfast bar downtown by the airport. Maybe he wants to live his own life!
Let Luigi be free...

At the start in his first game, Mario Bros., it was only created to have a second character for the 2-player game.
I think he's necessary but only for some games.

Luigi has always been in the shadow of the other characters, give or take a game or two.
Bowser doesn't even recognize him. He's generally left uncredited in favor of Mario. And was even missing from some games entirely. This doesn't mean that he is any less important than Mario. In fact, he could be even more so. While his original intention, in terms of his origin by Nintendo, was simply to have a 2nd player for Mario Bros, Luigi has grown into his own character. His own skill, his own personality, his own traits altogether. And often playing a supportive role. An interesting point to bring up is a scene in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. Mario falls ill, and Luigi must find a cure. While, being a bit of a coward, he was reluctant to go. but overcame his fear and and found the cure for Mario. (Granted, it turned out that there was nothing to be afraid of to begin with) From this point, without Luigi, we wouldn't have Mario anymore, as he would have succumbed to the illness. This is just one example. There are others out there I'm sure.

I think Nintendo is doing fine with Luigi, despite having some bad spots in certain games. However, I believe that if Nintendo had the chance to give up Luigi forever, they'd never do it. He's the best bro of Mario, the jumper to end all jumpers, the bravest in the land, he's Luigi!
Even if Luigi were to vanish from Mario's games for good, we'd never forget him. He's the greatest Nintendo character by far. Twitter: SonicKade2048
