So this was announced a while back but a new trailer today shows off a lot more, and honestly I went from slightly apprehensive to being ultra excited. The game looks like a Day 1 digital purchase for me.
The game seems to use an energy gauge meter of sorts, which slowly fills as you play. You can seemingly spend that stamina on more powerful shots like letting you aim your shot at the opponents side, or use it for defense like slowing down time or jumping to the ball to save a shot, or save it up for super powerful special shots. Also you can break your opponent's racket by using powerful shots, but they can be blocked with good timing which fills your opponent's stamina meter even more.
There's a really good risk/reward gameplay style going on that keeps things fair and doesn't resort to gimmicks like in the previous entry with those randomly placed giant mushrooms.
In addition to that, the game just seems to have a lot more style and flair to its design like the developers actually had fun making it. Plus a good looking single player story mode, tournaments, online play and even decent looking motion controls.
If I haven't sold you already, surely all you need is one glimpse of this magnificent specimen.
