Hello suckers... I am back.

Man! This thread is a trip down memory lane! Now that we are all (somewhat) responsible adults, it feels like a high school reunion or something.

Let's make an iscribble room, if that site is still around!

Basically, certain European members of the forum (you know who they are) went out of their way to shitpost and (in my case especially) make a lot of super racist commentary and art, some of which they went on to spread to other outlets online. They're overtly toxic.
Im sorry you had to go that. I was curious why certain users were always negative to you. 🙁

Not gonna name names though. Hopefully they've since then wised up and turn out for the better, 13 years is a long time after all.

I agree! But unfortunately there are some users here that I don't care to see! Maybe they've changed? Who knows. 😉
I swear I've changed!

Are you sure about that Meda? 🧐
This exchange alone makes me think no

Heeey, you taught me to love the Beatles! For that, I'm always grateful. Long time no see, how's it been?

RE: Users that you miss - Yoshin - 07-14-2019

So many old faces in one thread
what a sight to be seen.

Getting people to actually listen to and properly examine The Beatles is my life's work, hahaha

It's been good. I'm still in university. I studied abroad for a year in provincial Tokyo, and I had an epiphany and changed my major to History+Visual Art. I plan to go back to Japan after graduating and become a full-time factory worker, along with participating more in the underground art circles I got involved in while there.

I'm also taking medication and recently decided to go back to counselling. I felt very free and happy in Japan and I hope that by the time I go back I am even better equipped to live my life well.

Sorry for abandoning everyone on Skype, hahaha

RE: Users that you miss - GeneralGuy - 07-15-2019

Welcome back Fujiko! Glad to hear that you're doing good. I've always wanted to go to Japan. It must be like a true come true for you!

Also, you helped me find newfound appreciation toward The Beatles, and I thank you for that!

Oh hey @Fujiko, long time no see!

RE: Users that you miss - OssieTheOstrich - 07-15-2019

the fact that most oldies have come back to mfgg is really amazing

all in one thread too wow

RE: Users that you miss - Flygon - 07-15-2019

It feels weird, because I'm seeing names I don't quite recognize, and I don't know if I'm either too new or too old to remember them, or just bad memory. Hahaha.

MFGG was huuuuge back then to be fair. Like I recognize some names, legit remember some people, and then vaguely a username will only just trigger a memory of an avatar, a sprite, or like one topic made at some point lol

You're the second person that's mentioned this to me. I hate to ask, but what is the source of this, anyway? Myself, and a few others are curious to know.
I don't disbelieve you, I'm just... not completely sure what's going on.

My last contact with them was sometime around 2010, or 2011. I was a bit too naive at the time, and they contacted me through MSN asking if I would miss him if he disappeared.
I don't think I've ever actually told anyone this, but, well, I was young and a fool. I said to him that I'm not sure if I would or not. And then he disappeared.

So I've spent about 8 or 9 years now thinking he committed suicide.

So, if you can get me a solid source on that claim, it would frankly be a gigantic relief.

source is an old user who was close to him and whom char confided in before leaving
based on the information they gave us we were able to find char's linkedin page and confirm both his age and that he's still alive (and that he was not, in fact, a white guy called reggie as he had claimed)

not gonna reveal either name cause privacy but it was pretty conclusive confirmation

he totally was the most mature admin mfgg ever had tho which Says Something maybe

RE: Users that you miss - Flygon - 07-15-2019

Alright, it's a relief that he's probably not dead. Thank you.
That seriously gets rid of a burden I've been carrying for almost a decade now.

Thanks General Guy for inadvertently making this possible, I guess. O_o"

it went down not long ago
someone actually came into minus world on the last day or so and asked if any of the old iscribble crew were still around

A lot of the old iscribble crew I still need to contact.

RE: Users that you miss - Q-Nova - 07-15-2019

Wow! So, this is how it feels to be in MFGG during the mid-2000s? To all of those who returned, welcome back! It's nice to see you all return, even if you most of you may not know me, since I joined in 2015. Laughing I think I remember seeing @Flygon's avatar in the MFGG Wiki (and maaaaaaybe in the phpBB forums?), and I recognized @Sponge's ref thanks to the wiki.

It's great to see you again, @Parakarry! I always liked your posts! And nice to see you again, @Fujiko! I still remember that MFGG Mafia game that you started! That was fun. Smile

@GeneralGuy I've seen Peardian in the VG Resource (especially the models section), so that might be one way to contact him. It'd be nice to have him back -- he seems like a cool guy!

RE: Users that you miss - Arrietty - 07-15-2019

I'd honestly argue that it's a little bit like how MFGG felt in the mid-2000s but with way less baggage and drama. Honestly though? Because of the lack of those, right now is probably the best I've ever felt about the community. lol

I just wish it was at least as half active as it was back in the day. Perhaps it'll get back to that point now that half of everyone's coming back.

Soveryhappy

I've said more than my share about the role MFGG played in my life, but it's still touching to see people come back here at least briefly. Hi!

Yeah, I feel the same way. MFGG just isn't the same without all the old faces around. You and Klobber were always my favorite MFGG admins.
