Pugs - Neweegee - 03-04-2019 Did I tell you that I REALLY love pugs? Yeah sure, they're an "anatomical disaster" but they're here right now and they must be LOVED! Now, I've never been lucky enough to actually own one, but I love these guys. They bond really tightly with their human owners, they show lots of positive emotions, and are generally really friendly if you train them right. To me, they're also super ugly but in a cute, durpy-looking way. But I didn't come here to just talk about how much I like pugs. I wonder what you think about them. Pugs seem to have a straightforward love-or-hate kind of opinion on them. I know everyone in my family hates them lol Even as a pug fan, I'm not gonna fight you 1v1 if you hate them or anything, so just be completely honest if you've got anything to say! RE: Pugs - Evil Yoshi Toes - 03-04-2019 I'm kind of on the fence about them for a lot of reasons. If I put aside my issues with pug breeding, they're kind of just uglier bull dogs. I think they're cute when they're puppies, but I'm not really a fan of the extremely squished faces and nasty breathing when they become adults. They're also very prone to medical issues, even more than other purebred dogs, which can get expensive. I do think they were a bit cuter before they were intentionally deformed, but even then they wouldn't be my first choice. RE: Pugs - Daisy - 03-04-2019 Not a fan because of intentional deformation. Quote: Not a fan because of intentional deformationDeformation is sorta the reason I think they should be loved, honestly. I believe they ultimately shouldn't be bred anymore so they can all eventually be(for lack of better terms) extinguished naturally and put out of their misery. Because they suffer through their whole lives in a deformed body, people could try to adopt them so they can at least live out their lives with someone who likes them and can make things easier. It's a shame they're so expensive to care for! Quote:i'd rather pet a shibeGet that meme dog outta muh pug thread!!
