The world needs this. Who knows - maybe I'll do something if I can summon a bit of free time.

I wish newer versions of Game Maker didn't hate MIDIs, although you can always soundfont a MIDI with a so-so soundfont, or you can use a different ye olde game-making tool!

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Vitiman - 06-29-2019

Sign me up for sure. I'm like 99% sure the other staff are fine with a badge, though I can't guarantee it'll be the one you whipped up - in fact, I think I have an idea for something appropriate given the theme of this jam Soveryhappy

I have a million and one ideas for this, and honestly I'm not sure what I should do for it... could be anything, really.

Do all of them and call it Vitimanction 52 Wink I have so many ideas too that I might make more than one game.

Alright guys and gals, I'm going to be one of the saviors contributors here and help make y'all suffer:

Here is the registration code for "The Games Factory 1.06 Pro" Edition:

And the download link to it: https://www.clickteam.com/download-centre/retired-products
(Find "The Games Factory 1.06" under the Retired Products section)

Notes for Installing:
  • It's gotta be in the "C:\GFactory" directory, otherwise it won't work.
  • During installation, it'll ask you if you want the unregistered version, home version, or Pro version. You want the PRO version. (that's what the serial code is for on the top of my post.)
  • You'll need the CNC DLL files, found on MFGG. (Or right here: https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=02&c=6&id=7)

-------

Yep. This is happening.

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Evil Yoshi Toes - 06-29-2019

I still have MMF with the library assets that come with it... I'm definitely joining in! My product will no doubt be atrocious, but this sounds like a ton of fun. I'm going to try my best.

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Langton - 06-29-2019

This is quite simply a fantastic idea for a comp. If I can think of something stupid enough, I'll do my best to work on something during those 48 hours.

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Clobbah - 06-30-2019

This is very interesting. Count me in!

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Roo - 07-01-2019

Just to be clear, I updated the main post to say that you don't have to use any one specific program to make your game(s).

I feel like some people are going to use Clickteam products simply due to how popular they were in ye golden times. Which is a cool decision imo.

I'll probably stick to Godot myself though.

I have a question though, is it okay if I convert a MIDI to a .wav file?

For Pete's sake, how many times do I need to say that THERE ARE NO RULES? You can use MIDIs, WAVs, MP3s, OGGs, convert MIDIs to WAVs, convert WAVs to MIDIs, or even create your own file format if you so choose. I'm just saying that in general, your game's probably going to feel more authentic if you use MIDIs, but there's absolutely no harm in going ham with wacky songs (like how most Mr. Pence games do).

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Simpson55 - 07-01-2019

I've made my submission in one night, may I submit it now?

Well when you leave this:

MIDIs, MIDIs, MIDIs. I don't want to hear none of that newfangled .ogg or .mp3 crap. Low-quality, badly-compressed .wavs are fine, but still on thin ice.

It's not that obvious, so no need to yell at people about it.

That was a bit poorly worded, so sorry about that (though it does say it's merely a guideline on top of it).

If at all possible, I'd prefer that people post their submissions on or after Jul 6.

Um... where do we extract the CNC DDL files on a Windows 10?

Putting them into C:\Windows should work.

Gotta contribute to this, if someone instead is more familiarized with Game Maker.

Here's a list with downloadable previous versions of Game Maker

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Roo - 07-03-2019

Speaking of olde-timey resources,

here's an ancient collection of MIDIs that came with some early Clickteam products.

You've almost definitely heard some of these classics if you've played enough old MFGG games.

RE: Ye Olde MFGGe Game Jamboree (Jul 6-7) - Yakibomb - 07-03-2019

For MIDI's, I'm using https://www.vgmusic.com/

It's uh, the best and I don't know what I'd do without it. Been using it since the Games Factory was king.

For sounds, I'd recommend searching MFGG.net.

Look I'm not saying I'm doing something really dumb but
