[wip] Super Mario 16 - a traditional Mario platformer (Mari0 mappack) VERSION 5.0 - Evan.F - 08-24-2019 Super Mario 16 (working title) is a traditional Mario platformer made using a mod for Mari0 (that fangame where Mario has a portal gun). The mod itself (called Alesan's entities) adds about 190 new entities and many new features (such as custom enemies, animated backgrounds/tiles, custom power-ups and more).This makes almost full use of the mod's capabilities. It takes it's art style from the SNES Mario games and it's soundtrack uses SMW custom music The most recent version has 9 new levels making the total 31. There are also some updated graphics. World descriptions World 1 - Truffle Isle: An island that is territory of the Mushroom Kingdom with a small forest and a fortress populated by spiders. World 2 - Pumpkin Passage: A haunted land where a huge castle can be seen in the distance upon entering. Boos, J-sons and other ghoulish enemies live here World 2 - Falafel Flatlands: a vast desert populated by friendly Sahariguys. the main form of transport is the native Ostro birds and some not-so-friendly shy guys ride these around (the Ostros don't seem to like the shy guys). Also where are the cards coming from? World 4 - Mountain Soursop: A jungle around and on top of a mountain with tribal hammer brothers and a ancient ruin. The temples have rocky inhabitants that reside there. Most are asleep or inanimate but some are awake, and waiting to attack. World 5 - Mackerel Skies: A land situated in the clouds populated by Cloudies. World 6 - Sherbet Shores: A snow/water world, not much has been worked on yet World 7 - Mushroom Kingdom: Mario returns to the Mushroom Kingdom to find that Bowser's troops have took over. Travel trough levels based on areas from past Mario games (from Super Mario Brothers to New Super Mario Bros 2.) as of now World 8 - The Dark World: Bowser's kingdom, so far a volcanic landscape like in previous games. Please offer your ideas, enemy ideas, soundtrack and offer help for now. . I will update you all as much as possible. Here is the current demo. Demo 5! Alesans entities Dry beetles, Boom Boom, fighter flies, sidesteppersand fire piranha plants are built into the mod, and Porcupuffer is Already in there ( he's in world 2-2, which is the Pionpi level in the screenshots). I might include the gels for certain surfaces and faithplates. If you want to try the demo, download the mappack and character files from the Mappack. The mod has been around for ages, I am just making my mappack with it. Mountain Soursop (world 4) isn't really based on Bonk, rather the original Wonder Boy game. I'll give you some tracks I'm looking for, as well as label examples. Mountain Soursop (jungle floor) track wanted: Silent forest zone 1 ( Sonic lost world) Falafel Flatlands (optional: there is already a version) track wanted: Desert zone (wonder boy 3 remake) with the ending of the lost temples (monster boy: the cursed kingdom) or just the latter 5-2 (optional) track wanted: A more relaxing,"cloud level" styled version of Fastrun 5-2 from Mario Forever, also known as Siren. Boss theme (optional) example: Although I'm using NSMBDS's boss themes as of now, one theme I feel might work is Boss Snake (yet again from Monster Boy). Clock tower level Examples (should just be taken into consideration): Time man's theme (Mega Man powered up), SM3DL's clock theme, and Stairway to revelation. World 7 all these themes I want to use the music in SMB and SMM2's SMB themes as a leitmotif, similar to the VLDC themes, as world 7 is set in the Mushroom Kingdom. Some ideas I had were the beach theme being a mix of SMB's ground and underwater themes, The great pipe maze leading to world 8 being the underground theme with hints of Paced energy (vvvvvv) and The castle level being based on The last dungeon encore (the wonder boy 3 remake). All leves are for the most part based on SMB levels, as well as NSMB level themes. Theres also toad town, which I want to use the leitmotif thing. World 8-1 Track wanted (remember you can change my mind on these too): Forest Funk (Super Meat Boy) Mid world 8 transition Example: Piercing the Sky oh and... Pre boss build up Example: the boss build up music from Kirby Triple Deluxe If you make any of these, then thank you soooo much optional ones have different tracks. Remember, I am looking for SMW custom music based tracks. For example, you can download the Super Mario World soundfont, which includes all the instruments used in Super Mario World. Then you can use a program like SynthFont* to apply the SMW soundfont to the MIDI and make it sound as if it were in the original game. Once you're done, you can export it as an MP3 or Ogg file. * SynthFont is the tool I've used for this; there might or might not be a better alternative now. |
