WIP Essence Of Waluigi II: Eternal Awakening

One year after Essence Of Waluigi, the Essence returns, and Mario & Luigi are left unconscious. When they wake up, they see that Toad Town has been destroyed. Meanwhile, the mysterious Mr. W plans to summon the Moon Of Disaster, known by some as "Ignatius", so that he could use it as a power source for the Essence. To do this, he needs the Ztars. But, Ztars have become extremely rare. They can now only be found on Eternius Island, a place that almost everyone considers a myth.

Essence Of Waluigi II will have 3 playable characters. Mario, Luigi, and a secret unlockable character. The game is currently planned to have 6 worlds, each containing 3 levels, 2 bonus levels and 1 boss. There will also be many new enemies to defeat and 3 new power ups, alongside the return of Mario's "corrupted" invincibility form.

I've been regularly posting clips of the game on Twitter since December 2021. Above is the most recent compilation of these clips. There was another one before this, but I'm not sure if I'm alowed to include that here as the description contains some swearing.

My current plan is to make a demo for SAGE 2022, but if I'm unable to do that the demo will just be released when it's ready.

Quite an interesting graphical style you've got going here. And by interesting, I mean a good kind of interesting!

I love how "British" your art style looks. It's like I'm about to play "Zoinker the Chipmunk's Ripper Adventures" on the Amigadore Spectrum 57.6 or something.

The gameplay looks good too, I guess.

The first one was awesome, one of the few fangames to come out in the last number of years that really felt like something genuinely weird from the golden era of MFGG. I'm super excited; the new custom sprites look even more stylized and I love that your expanding the world! The Ghosty Waluigi looks dope

This looks really neat! I haven't played the original Essence of Waluigi yet, but it's definitely one of the top modern fangames I want to try out someday! I like how that and this game look! The graphics are very cool; I like the gritty yet cartoony look. It kinda makes me think of Don Bluth's films and classic Rayman. It's such a unique look for a Mario fangame! You seem like a pretty creative person; people are right when they say that this feels like something you'd see in MFGG's golden days (albeit with more polish)! Good luck on the game!
