It could be system related issues and/or a recently installed software is interfering with Edge's functionality. Try these instead:
- uninstall/reinstall recently updated/installed software - use system restore to restore to the last point where Edge is working well - open Windows PowerShell (Admin) and run “SFC /scannowâ€.

I highly recommend contacting Microsoft support if registry cleaning and reinstalling of the program don't fix it. Is there a particular reason you're using edge over Firefox or a Chromium-based browser?
