Let's say, you make a poll, and you realised that you made a typo/made a wrong poll title, you have no way of changing it back.
And its annoying.
List of projects I eventually plan to finish after the indefinite hiatus is over, assuming I don't abruptly cancel them:
[+]Spoiler
Mario's Rather Unusual Trilogy (Mario's slightly unusual Boss Rush (Completed), Mario vs. Some Unusual Foes (In development), Mario's VERY Unusual Final Frontier (In development))
Sonic's Foray into Random/Unusual Zones (spin-off of Unusual Trilogy, in development)
Angry Birds Slingshot Frenzy (In development)
Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition (In development)
Super Hilda DX (In only conceptual phase)

Yes, I am aware that I have about 6 or so fangame projects currently in development at the same time. And yes, I am also aware that all of this is very ambitious.
+ List of projects I'm helping out with in some small capacity during my hiatus:
[+]Spoiler
Super Mario Bros Dimensions 2 (as a spriter, only for Mario's sprites)
MFGG Community Fangame Project 3 (as a spriter)
WordGirl ReWired (as a artist)

It is best to consult with a forum moderator/admin about for such matters. However I'll bring this up to other staffs see if we can allow users to make changes to their polls.

I'm surprised that this is not already a thing. Having to bug staff every time you want to change your own poll sounds like a big pain. Why would you even lock something like that?

I don't see any reason not to do this.

However, if at all possible, remove the ability to edit the poll after a vote has been cast... so that nobody can edit the poll and change what people are voting for, abuse like that

I think this is a good idea, however I object to locking you out after a vote.

Considering most people who make polls are genuinely looking for feedback, editing a poll to change results would be pointless and warnable if offensive anyway. If someone made a typo and were unable to fix it because someone voted, I imagine they wouldn't be too happy.

Not wanting to bump this, but has this been implemented yet?

Cause people would really appreciate it being added..

If this can't be added to due technical restraints, then Shrug

No. I don't agree with this.

People have used it in the past to trick people into voting for something offensive. And you're not exactly someone who I think is above doing that.

Just double check and spell check your polls before you submit them.

That same line of logic could be applied to regular posts and quoting.

No, it really can't. You can physically navigate to the member's posts and see the original quote there. You can't see what the original poll was before someone would have edited it.

you should definitely consider that people can be tricked this way

but also most people won't do that, and even if they do it's not like a forum poll has ever counted for much.

Why not just reset the votes every time a poll is changed then? I know it might seem annoying in theory given that it would require users to vote again on the poll they already voted on but it can solve the problem of users being tricked.
Everyone says I'm getting down too low
Everyone says "You just got to let it go"

There's also the option of limiting the modification of polls to anonymous votes only. So if a member's name is shown with their vote, you can't edit the poll. Also, an edited poll could allow members an opportunity to re-vote?

I VERY much say dont lock out editing
Lots of times dev threads change out the poll entirely on the OP and locking out editing ruins this.
