Super Mario Maker 2 gets a big update! New Power-Ups, Bosses, Etc

I'm glad to see that Phanto from Doki Doki Panic/Super Mario Bros. 2 is making a return in the SMB1 style! The update will now even let you make your own maps! The Super Mario 3D World style is getting a lot of new power-ups this time! Much more course elements are going to appear in the update.

I guess my dreams of an SMB2 style are dead, but at least they're still acknowledging the game in a nice way. We might not be getting Wart, but Phanto is also the kind of character that has basically only appeared in SMB2, so that's cool.

I do have to wonder about the whole "final major update" thing, though. The game has said " Extra Game Styles" from day one, yet there's still only one. Did they perhaps plan to make another one, but ultimately couldn't, or are they going to release it as an expansion pack, which is technically different from a "major update"?
