Good work, as usual. It's nice to see an update!
Specifically, I'd like to compliment you on the soundtrack for Ghostly Getaway - I liked the mix of Western music and electronic stuff. Course clear! You got a card.

This track is the result of me being frustrated and just throwing something out there in effort to get some motivation back while I'm drafted. Maybe, but I did manage to finish the track, so maybe it was just a Conker-styled sudden downer ending following the final boss. Luckily it didn't take too much effort to recover. Â

Well, I did say it'd be 5 months or so...
I guess not much has happened since then since I was pretty busy with dumb stuff for the most of the intervening half a year. Here's what I got. Khimera: Picross Island soundtrack previews https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/sets/...oss-island Syx has been working on a Khimera spinoff for about 8 months now, I'm composing a soundtrack for it. Here's some previews from it. [ModPlug] Stickerbush Symphony https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/stickerbush-symphony I made a stickerbush symphony cover with trackers. I tried to make it as pretty as possible, so it has a bunch of channels and effects and envelope tricks. You can even download it from my "brand new" website over here: [LINK] Cool right? Most of my time went to military stuff for this year and the latter half of 2019. The time I had for music has mainly gone to working on the Picross soundtrack, of which I'm quite proud of. Aside from that, I've made a bunch of random tracks I've released, but the frequency has been lower. Here they all are in one dump: [FL Studio] Judgment (Metal Slug 2/X) https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/judgment I don't even remember the circumstances of this cover. It is what it is. [FL Studio] Stage (Monochrome) (Pyoro U) https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/stage...me-pyoro-u For last year's MFGG Jam I worked with Mors on a game called Pyoro U. It... didn't go as well. I removed the rest of the soundtrack from SoundCloud, but I can still send them via a PM or something. [FL Studio] New Junk City (Earthworm Jim) https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/new-j...thworm-jim Junk funk. This was a fun cover to do, it ended up sounding deliberately very 90s CD game -esque. [ModPlug] Aftermath https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/aftermath This was an entry to a tracker music competition during a demoscene event in Finland. It got 5th place out of 11. [FL Studio] Pump the Distortion https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/pump-the-distortion Fun idea I had one day. I got to mess with guitars some more, which I definitely should practice a lot more. The Swoop soundtrack https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/sets/the-swoop This was the soundtrack to a N64 game jam entry in December. Just about everything that could go wrong went wrong on the audio side: I was busy writing music for Puzzle Island, the old console meant the use of archaic sequence formats, samples couldn't be converted, technical problems plagued the recording and in the end the game shipped with streamed audio where one stereo channel failed to initialize, so the audio played in mono over your left ear. Homebrew development is kind of a pain. [ModPlug/NES VRC6] Jag Dance https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/jag-dance-vrc6 A track written for Syx's in-production fangame. It was the very first time I was working with NES specs and tools, so it was kind of a pain. In the end, this rendition got replaced by a remake/cover by 40nix for the still upcoming game. [FL Studio] Underworld 2 (Blaster Master Zero) https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/underworld-2-bmz pbbttbbtp I don't have anything to say about this one. I practiced making patches on the XV-5080. [ModPlug] Stage 7 - Lava Factory (Annalynn Arrange) https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/stage...nn-arrange Tracker arrange of RRThiel's track for Cruise's indie game! That's about it. It was fun messing with Modplug again. [FL Studio] Nova Remnant https://soundcloud.com/catonator-1/nova-remnant You ever just zone out and make something? This is it for me, and it definitely sounds like it. Maybe you like weird 90s ambient jungle as much as I do and enjoy this, probably not though And that's it! A lot of time last year went to Puzzle Island and this year has ssssucked so I've wasted a lot of time writing music for projects that have gotten canned. I'd definitely like to focus on soundtracks more in the future, as keeping tabs on a bigger project and working it out over time is a much more pleasant way to make music than bouncing around doing random crap, and I think it also creates much better and more thought-out tracks than the random SoundCloud dumps. So that's about it. Next year I might start pushing things to YouTube since SoundCloud has had enough of me and wants me to pay for posting music and frankly f*** that, so we'll see. Will I even make a next post? Who knows. Bye! Â
