I highly recommend Commander Keen 2000 not just to Commander Keen fans, but also to anyone who's into fangames in general! It may not be well-made, but it's one of the oldest Clickteam fangames ever made, the first completed Keen fangame, and it has a lot of charm! I mean, what other game lets you fight against a giant flying chicken that shoots eggs in all directions!? Laughing

Wario vs. Windows is a fun game -- it's fun controlling Wario and there are so many creative ideas! It was very inspirational to me when I made The Mortrix (which is a Keen 2 mod)!

The MFGG 10th Anniversary Time Capsule has a prototype for Toad Strikes Back, which happens to be more than a plain prototype! It actually feels more like a separate game, hence the reason why I like to call it Toad Strikes Back 0! I was really amazed -- it's perhaps the best early 2000s fangame there ever is! The length is surprisingly decent! While the 2007 version of Toad Strikes Back might barely count as an old fangame depending on your viewpoint, it has a lot of the classic fangame charm! It also has a lot of creative ideas and is just great in general!

By the way, wouldn't this be more appropriate in the Gaming forum?

One that my brother made is included in the 10th anniversary pack, called Wario Eats Everything. You move Wario, press the button, and he eats some of the background. (that is, putting a big bite mark into it) None of the main levels had much of a point, but there were a few game modes. One of them is called Eat Like Hell, where Wario's bite marks are used as a temporary shield against flames coming at him.

And Eat Like Hell has me shouting the game name at the title screen, too.

Another game that stands out to me is Legend of the Golden Hammer, for how ludicrous and action packed it is.

Super Mario Bros DDX stills hits me on my heart to be my first MFGG fangame i played(i even didn't knew about MFGG because at the time because i was so young and considering that i was spanish only, it didn't helped) for me, it looks like if Nintendo himselves made that game becuase for me it almost feel official, good controls, (almost) fair difficulty, i was (and still) Midi music used here, Yup loved all... Big Grin

But if we wanna get deeper, I actually want a remake of that game because it really was nice at the time released, Fun Guy's Mario Mansion series.
Yeah i can agree that the controls were not as "good", but it feel some charm and love on it, becuase the history was really interesting for me, and the hammer was a nice touch, if the bosses were way better (Becuase man, i hate both MM1 and MM2 third boss) nice battles could be done with hammer in it. I can only recomend this game if you were already skilled with old fangames... oh and FanGuy is an awesome character, i really got very attached to him!

Well that's all i'm gonna say at least. What do you think? Wink
