In short it seems to me that you want MFGG to be something it is not meant to be. When joining MFGG I was never under the impression that I was joining a site that would lead me to becoming a professional game dev. If you are looking for a site that is geared toward getting people into the professional game dev field, why would you choose a Mario fan site of all places? That would be like someone going to Archive of Our Own in order to learn how to be a professional writer. That's silly.Great post as always, Evil Yoshi Toes.
I, like many others, would also like to know how you propose we fix what you believe to be issues with the site.
On the issue of people becoming upset over their criticism not being taken I agree with Nessa. Criticism is for the criticized to take into account. If it is ignored that should not bother the criticizer to the degree it often does here.

Pointing out problems is the first step to solving it, not everyone is going to have the solution ready. You don't need to be a plumber (like me) to know there's a leak, you don't need to be up to the task to saving the princess (like me) to know she's been captured by Bowser again, and you don't need to be an expert poster (like me) to know there's some issues in a community.
Think of how hard it would be for a software developer if the only people pointing out bugs were people who knew how to fix them? Or a Doctor if their patient never told them they felt anything wrong?
Criticism is a blessing, we may not always have the solutions right away but only when we're honest about our problems can we even concieve of solutions.
Criticism is not the point here though, he's talking about how the OP complains about issues about the site but never addresses on the ways they could potentially fix them, and even so vaguely says how.
Complaining is just a derogatory way to refer to criticism. They're the same.
Now as I've posted before, I don't agree with Williamsaber that the "actual" problem he sees is a problem with MFGG; it seems more like he's expecting MFGG to be something it simply isn't.

I believe that I won't get hurt over the fact that my criticism isn't being taken. But if we really wanted to, we could make a thread titled "Critique Corner" where people post their work specifically to get critiqued. NOT to show off their work, or to say "hey! Look what I'm making!" since that can be done in the WIP sections. We could get a few members who can be there most/some of the time, constructively critique, and won't go crazy if their critique isn't taken. If critiqued members complain, then the staff can decide if the member really has a right to complain by looking at the critique given. If the one giving the critique truly has given bad critique, then we could use a "three-strikes-and-your-out" kind of consequence system. I think that if we do this right, we can get constructive critique for everyone on this sight without people going crazy. This is a good start for an idea to have some more serious developer criticism on MFGG
