This is something I considered, but on the other hand I sort of like the mixing of styles as well as the sense of consistency between tracks. You do have a point though, so I'd like to get some more opinions on this. If it's ear-piercing I wonder if a low pass filter would help.

Consistency is good and all, but I think you should consider using leitmotifs instead for that. Or even a less noticeable synth: having something as loud and overpresent as that synth in every song will make the soundtrack seem dull and repetitive.
