So I checked out Minus World due to above recommendation, but it seems kind of... caustic. that's certainly true to the 2000s forum life, but I guess I don't have the heart for it now.

That's fair, there's definitely an air of that, even if its in jest.

tbh i rarely stick around mfgg any more cause despite the surface appearance of a saccharine friendly community, i dont find this place at all welcoming (see the lgbt threads, oof)
i need the genuine love and support under the shitpost facade that kept MW alive all these years over the other mfgg knockoffs

but i absolutely wont disagree that fake toxicity between friends can be super offputting to people lol, just a shame
