My recommendation would be to power through the complaints from armchair slippery-slope theorists who think one game they don't like is going to destroy an entire community
I mean seriously, comparing MFGG to deviantart? dA has always been weird, it has "deviant" in the name for chrissake. One time when I was a kid my grandma saw me on deviantart and said "should you be looking at a site with deviant art??" That site was always destined to become a dumping ground for weird fetish art and whoever administrates it made no attempt to prevent it from happening. MFGG is just a site for Mario fangames; there's no reason to believe a few off-color games are going to scare away other developers, especially since at least half of MFGG's young, would-be-burgeoning fangame creators have probably moved on to Mario Maker. The ones who are left will take whatever sharing platform they can get.
