whoooo huge news dump, and this time i'll unfortunately have to spoiler it, since it contains huge spoilers for both this game and the original persona 5.

• there's a common and popular theory that this game will have "dream stealing", the thief being the suspicious kasumi yoshizawa. how this will work, we have no idea.
  
• it's also noted that kasumi may have wavering allegiance to the phantom thieves, since in the latest trailer (livestreamed a couple of hours ago) she is (from what i can see) given a choice to kill joker or a shadow attacking him.
  
• she has a MAGICAL GIRL TRANSFORMATION WHAAAAAAT
  
• many characters, who in the original game were either in hospital or straight up dead, are now alive and present in this game, including but not limited to, wakaba isshki (futaba's mother), shiho suzui (ann's best friend who attempted suicide at the start of the game), kunikazu okumura (haru's hostile father, who has a palace), and most notably, crow, also known as goro akechi (the detective rival who joins your party, but eventually goes insane and tries to kill you).
  
• goro in particular has another appearance when you encounter him in masayoshi shido's palace to match his true persona, loki, and it's shown that goro survives and is playable in this form.
  
• the party all have new third tier personas, all with the theme of being modern appearances of the original personas, and the names being their identities. for example, ryuji's persona is captain kidd, and the third tier persona is william, kidd's real name. ann and morgana's third tier personas are celestine and diego respectively.
  
• a new character by the name of josé appears in mementos. currently i have no clue what his role is, but i speculate that he might be related to the velvet room attendants in some way, but that's probably a stretch.
  
• the final sequence of the game seems to be a LOT more dynamic than before, with a scene where makoto drives morgana and the others to safety while mementos breaks the world apart, and joker literally running on the rising broken parts of the ground what the hell is going on?
