People have used it in the past to trick people into voting for something offensive. And you're not exactly someone who I think is above doing that.

Considering most people who make polls are genuinely looking for feedback, editing a poll to change results would be pointless and warnable if offensive anyway. If someone made a typo and were unable to fix it because someone voted, I imagine they wouldn't be too happy.
