Super Mario Power Star Frenzy by Random.NICK and Mario Takes a Three by MTA3 Team
We've already talked about Power Star Frenzy, it's a fangame with lots of well designed levels, and a ton of polish. There is really no other fangame at that level, so no wonder it's a winner. Congratulations Nick! Mario Takes a Three on the other hand is the level compilation game for the contest with the same name. It features several levels with... varying levels of quality, but hey, apparently the good bits were good enough for people to like the whole package! Plus you cannot deny that some of those bad levels kind of have that "so bad it's good" charm.
