Recovering corrupted Game Maker 8 files???

Well, sh**. My game that was in development for months has become corrupted, and so has its .gb1 backup file!

I'd do anything to have them back. What can I do to retrieve .gmk or .gb1 files made in Game Maker 8?

Have to tried to roll back into a previous version?

If you mean by right-clicking the file and going to "Properties", I have tried it, but the "recover" tab isn't there. Logically it's because the File History function is disabled and I can't enable it because there's a message saying that there are no "usable drivers".
