Originally, I tried to maintain a "firewall" between my online life and people I know in real life. I never posted anything particularly scandalous online, but I felt I could express myself more fully if I didn't have my family or close friends watching me! I stopped caring so much about the real life-online separation in later years, though, as the physical and digital have grown much more intertwined.
Still, my family and friends probably don't know about MFGG.
