I am on Windows 10, and the paint program doesn't have all the features or usability it once had.
Here is the link to MSPaint XP Windows version: https://archive.org/details/mspaintXP
Here are some other programs I was told to look into: Aseprite (Paid), PyxelEdit (Paid, Free Older Version), Piskel (Free), Pixquare (Paid), Graphics Gale (Free), Photoshop (Paid), GIMP (Free), and Krita (Free).
Here is a basic introduction to animation (like walking and running): https://www.slynyrd.com/blog/2018/8/19/p...-animation
Here is just a basic sprite making tutorial, that seems to be good to me: https://pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299
EDIT: I also have paint.NET on my laptop, it is good.
