First of all, I appreciate it when people take an interest in the MFGG Wiki, and I don't want to be too negative. I can tell you have good intentions and you want to help. However, this isn't a good idea.
Hosting: I'm not familiar with Miraheze, but it sounds like it's a more open alternative to community wiki hosts like Fandom. Either way, I'd much rather us host our content on the MFGG.net domain - something we have complete control over. Using the MFGG domain also boosts our SEO on other parts of the site.
Redundancy: I don't see the point in making a new MFGG Wiki when we already have one. While the current MFGG Wiki needs a lot of updates, it still has a lot of useful content that can't be found anywhere else. I'd rather us work on improving the existing Wiki than make a new one.
Difficulty in finding contributors: Many years ago, people occasionally suggested creating a new MFGG Wiki. However, one big problem was that it's always been difficult to get people to consistently contribute to the MFGG Wiki. Even when MFGG was a larger community, we usually had only about a half-dozen people who regularly contributed to the Wiki. Even Wikipedia, one of the biggest and most important Web sites on the planet, has fewer active editors than it once did and has struggled to diversify its base of active editors. Instead of spending a lot of time on anything Wiki-related, it might be better to discuss other ways to make the current Wiki more relevant and useful (such as improving mainsite-Wiki integration).
AI content: This is the biggest issue with the prototype. I can tell a lot of the articles were written by ChatGPT (or some other LLM). The tone is inappropriate for the MFGG Wiki or almost any other wiki - a lot of the writing sounds like an advertisement. It's fine for the MFGG Wiki to accentuate the positive, but we should try to maintain a neutral tone. Worse, a lot of the information is inaccurate - for example, the NCFC article falsely claims that NCFC was created by someone named "Retoba", and the Midas Machine page says Peach is playable even though she's not. I'd say content full of hallucinations is worse than no content at all. The MFGG Wiki hasn't added a concrete policy on AI-written text because the Wiki hasn't been too active since LLM-based AI got big, but we shouldn't be using AI to write content on the MFGG Wiki.
