Quick update: That Zapper wasn't the only controller of mine to suffer a severed wire.
While I had planned to do this to a Sega Genesis controller, it turns out that there just isn't enough wires inside a Cat5e socket to make it happen. (IT NEED ONE MORE! AAAAAAGH!)
HOWEVER, I was able to fix an N64 controller which suffered the same fate.

This works the same as with the NES zapper, and can even use the same cat5e cable utilized for it.
Before you ask: Due to the wiring methods, there is no possible way that this N64 controller can work on the NES. This wasn't even considered from the get-go I'm afraid.
This mod is proving very handy for the things I've installed it into. I may take this to a larger scale in the future.
