The chinese IP thing is ~maybe~ related to the out of memory condition that caused MySQL to go down, but was unrelated to the extended outage yesterday.
The partition corrupted during a hardware configuration change, so we almost lost 5 months of data (time since my last snapshot of MFGG). They were able to recover it after taking a second pass on it.
