Alright, so, while I'm still looking at this with very opaque lens of skepticism, I'll give it a proper critique.
Gameplay-wise, it's solid, fairly well made. Definitely works as a game, though it has its frustrating parts. It's fairly polished as well.
However, a lot of the humor fell flat for me. Like, there's a part where you play as Greeno and have to open Wario's door from SML2, except instead of golden coins, it's... disembodied heads of various gaming figures. I mean, I know at least one person on the dev team likes poking fun at “gamer culture†and I concede that it can get ridiculous sometimes, but I feel like the joke there just boils down to “lol gamerzâ€. does the nostalgia critic even review games that often im not sure
BUT that's not to say all of it is devoid of funny moments or anything. StrikeForcer continues to be comedy gold, for instance, just like he is in the Vimimin-made Charismas.
