Minus World certainly is a place, and its not for everyone.
The discord is where majority of the place's activity is and its too much for me personally.

minus world is a little impenetrable because everyone's known each other so long
every once in a while there's a forum game called "killing game" which is kind of like mafia mixed with a role playing game and that's when most of the new people join
and yeah like yoshin said it's not for everyone

I've lurked a few times. It has the feel of a knockoff MFGG populated by the most problematic members of the era leading up to the split.

Yeah, don't think it's for me either.

I was in their discord though which seems actually okay, but I left because I ran out of servers slots to join on Discord (since I join a lot of emoji and friend servers lol)

EDIT: nevermind I never left their discord, it's just buried far down the list. I just never talk there

We put in some serious work a few years ago to make some fun software for Minus World that is seriously falling apart now- well it still works for the most part but there's a bunch of weird issues here and there. I'd love for people to give it a shot and provide some feedback. The team is always talking about doing the next one once we get some solid time to do so and the input really helps the excitement.

As far as the community culture goes; well yeah I guess part of it is the Chaos scared enough people away that it's just whoever can get along without getting into a Big Fight every day; but eh, it's worked out to be its its own flavor that while it might not be for everyone I feel like its got plenty of value that if you give it a fair shot you'd learn to appreciate it.

And really the "most problematic" members? don't worry t-man is just a mod as a joke. hes barely even there.

That's fair, there's definitely an air of that, even if its in jest.

tbh i rarely stick around mfgg any more cause despite the surface appearance of a saccharine friendly community, i dont find this place at all welcoming (see the lgbt threads, oof)
i need the genuine love and support under the shitpost facade that kept MW alive all these years over the other mfgg knockoffs

but i absolutely wont disagree that fake toxicity between friends can be super offputting to people lol, just a shame

yeah i'll say if nothing else minus world has a solid LGBT backbone. And ever since we just embraced being a community and having fun with community games like the Killing Game or the Gimmick Garrison we've actually been experiencing growth after a few years of steady decline and near death. Granted, it's not particularly impressive growth but it's a slow and steady pace that keeps the community from doing any major culture shifts to accomodate the growth. It's really nice and cosy if you can get past the initial weirdness.
