Favorite anime?

I feel like by this point, it should be an obligation to watch at least one anime. So, let me hear what some of your favorites are!

I haven't watched any in a while, but I'd probably go with Fullmetal Alchemist (2003). It may not be faithful to the original manga (Brotherhood does that) but a lot of the changes make me prefer this one over Brotherhood. The numerous filler episodes suck, but I feel like there's some more character development with certain characters and I got a bit more emotional with this one over Brotherhood.
Also it has way better openings and the 4th opening's animation is so high-quality that it looks way better than any episode in the show

I don't know if Japanese animated movies count as anime but if they do I've seen Spirited Away and Totoro and those are probably my favorite.
I've not watched an anime series unless avatar the last air bender counts (they have big eyes so I thought it was anime but I actually have no idea). I used to watch that as a kid but I didn't watch the whole show or the episodes in order so I didn't see the full story.

Baku and Test, ERASED, and Assassination Classroom are my top three favorite ones. Some honorable mentions would include Have You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, Re: Zero, Konosuba, Noucome, and Kokoro Connect. I mostly enjoy deep stories, hilarious comedies, or, sometimes, dramatic emotions.
