Drawing Competition - Mario at the Movies!

MFGG has a long tradition of regularly hosting competitions on the forums! Sadly, we'd gotten away from doing competitions over the past four years, and I'd like to see if people are still interested in participating in these. Now that SAGE is wrapping up, I thought this would be a good time to give this a go.

The theme of this Drawing Competition is Mario at the Movies!

You could draw something inspired by the most recent Mario movie (I've heard it's pretty popular), or that other Mario movie (you know what I mean). Or you could draw Mario and friends hanging out at a movie theatre or parodying a scene from another famous movie. Be creative - it just has something to do with Mario and something to do with movies.

The deadline for submissions is end of day (Eastern time) Saturday, September 30, 2023. It's a soft deadline, but no extensions will be granted. Final voting will run for one week, unless we get 10+ entries, in which case we'll have a top five voting phase and then move to final voting.

A few things to keep in mind:

• You can use pretty much any medium for making visual art you want - anything from oil painting to MS Paint!
  
• No animated GIFs or videos
  
• No generative AI - you're not allowed to use generative AI tools, such as those that generate images from prompts

Good question! Especially since some of the classic sites for hosting images have died out or eliminated free plans.

Dropbox has always served me well - its free plan is quite generous.

Some people hotlink stuff they shared on Twitter, Tumblr, or Discord.

Don't go overboard with this, but I'd be fine with using the forum attachments system as long as your file isn't utterly gigantic.

hehe, both these entries did get a chuckle even if I don't know what movie they're referencing
I was gonna go make an entry for this as well, but good ol' procrastination and other things basically just took me out of it unfortunately
but this Nakaue-styled mario turned out well for a rough sketch sooo uhhhh, might aswell just show the only piece of progress I have ever had made on this lol :3
