I haven't watched it either. I couldn't see it the day it released due to things in real life I had to do (not going to disclose what it was due to privacy reasons) as well as the fact that it starting storming during my drive back home. Hope to see it in theaters in the future, though.

It was a great film chock-full of deep references to the games. Definitely a love letter to Mario fans.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie o3o it was clearly made for kids and fans of Mario, but it was really fun and enjoyable. The movie is bright and colorful, and jam-packed full of detail and references. The references are fun and there's seldom a scene that isn't fun to just take in. My only gripe is they occasionally use 70's pop music which, while not bad, just feel out of place when every other track in the film is a beautiful orchestral arrangement of classic mario music.

Bit late to do a follow-up of my previous post, but better late than never I suppose. :P
I saw the Mario movie with a friend and one of his friends sometime last month. I liked it and thought it was a pretty good movie - definitely a lot better than the live-action Mario movie. It was the first movie I saw in a theater in years (I think one of the last movies I saw in theaters was the 2018 Grinch movie (which is coincidentally also an Illumination movie) before I stopped going to watch them there, partially due to a general lack interest in movies shown). Overall, if I was to give it a rating, I would personally give it a 7.5/10; I'd definitely recommend giving it a watch if you're a Mario fan.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I finally watched it on Friday! It was fun. I liked the bright, colorful art style.
I thought a couple of things were a bit darker than anything you'd see in a typical Mario game, though overall the movie was quite respectful to the source material. I liked how it had a lot of super-specific references to a wide variety of Mario games (). Course clear! You got a card.

A little late too, but a couple of posts to help boost up forum activity wouldn't hurt anybody!
I ended up watching it with my mom since we missed the period of time to go see it in theaters. It's definitely a feel-good movie that if you're just looking for a fun time, but doesn't have a lot of substance as far as story goes, it's pretty basic there. That isn't to say it looks bad though - visually the movie is pretty to look at and is nice on the ears, with some exceptions like the odd shoehorning in of Take On Me. OBEY WARIO
