Things were pretty close to normal until yesterday where every place enacted a mask requirement, have to use one made out of a shirt until I get a real one. I also learned that the virus killed Rick May, the voice of Peppy Hare from Star Fox and the Soldier from TF2 who was already weakened by a battle with throat cancer, so that's a downer.

I can work from home so it's manageable, but all the restrictions outside and just the general discomfort of the situation makes it tough. Every time I go out to get food feels like a huge hassle. I haven't seen my parents for like a month now.

I've been wearing a bandanna mask while out grocery shopping recently. A lot of people are starting to wear masks in my area, although it's not mandatory. I heard about Rick May. That's really unfortunate and sad. Sad

Fortunately I was going able to get masks earlier in the year. I don't have to go out much but I guess some protection is better than nothing.

It is treating me okay for now, it's others I'm worried about. I have a bit of survivors guilt from being able to still work while others are out of a job. Very crappy. Stay safe everyone.

I'm very lucky to have a job right now, the only thing that sucks is not being able to go out with friends when I'm not at work, haha. I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't working, I'm a very social person so I would probably go insane. I had a mild cold a few weeks ago and my work made me stay home for an entire week even though I was feeling better after two days ... it was excruciating.

That being said, this is a pretty poopy situation as a whole and I feel awful for the people negatively effected, or the people who are immune-compromised. Stay safe.

... also, try to not drink that much. I know plenty of people who are drinking a lot and I'm genuinely worried about the amount of alcoholics this quarantine will create, but that's another discussion for another day.

Well. My hands are tied to pay the rent for the next month. Before my pay and hour cuts, I take home with close to average American middle class income. After all of these, I'm taking home less than $700 per month. Unfortunately my state declined my unemployment and I am not qualified for any benefits. Go figure. And now I have used up almost all of my savings just to keep myself afloat.

To make things worse, I still haven't received my stimulus check yet. This is due to fact I still haven't got my tax return from last year and I filed it digitally with my direct deposit details. I got the healthcare assistance for 2019 and I ended up making more than I expected, which may end up of me paying some taxes too.

Thanks life!

I get to work from home, so that's nice. I've unfortunately not had a whole lot of time to do comic work since I've taken on extra hours at work (currently averaging 48 hours a week) and when I'm not working I'm playing Animal Crossing because it's helping me manage my stress (although that game has been wasting my time for all the wrong reasons and the most bulls*** ways). I'm still in Pittsburgh and I don't have to make the drive all the way out to Wheeling for a while so that's cool too.

Also, since I last reported in, I got a cat and I'm finally using a CPAP so I'm getting better sleep at night and my cat is further helping with stress management, although she likes to keep knocking s*** off my desk, especially my tablet pen.

It's also getting really disheartening to see the daily recount of EASILY PREVENTABLE COVID deaths daily and polite political discourse be damned, but Trump is a goddamn f***tard in the way he's been handling the whole thing.

I had covid for a while, it wasnt fun. Aside from that I'm just scared because more and more not great things are being done to the homeless(which I am) like fining them for being out or not social distancing.
Shops being closed is annoying too.

That's awful. I can't imagine how bad they'd be treated here in the U.S. if that's what Canada is doing.

Yeah similar is being done up here. There's ice rinks that they heat up and drain and have people live in there but everyone's like cramped together and can't leave I've heard from peers who are in them. I refuse to go in one.

Unfortunately, homelessness isn't a bug in the housing market - it's a feature. Free markets require haves and have-nots for there to be supply and demand, which is fine when you're talking about Xboxes or Ferraris, but not things people need to live like housing, food, and healthcare. Housing should be de-commodified and made a human right, full-stop. Disagree

Yeah really, it doesn't help that employers and landlords look down on you if you're homeless.

Well I've got some good news at least. My friend who happened to own a house is interested to share his vacant room with private bathroom for cheap. I can kiss my current place goodbye since I hated living here and my landlord is being unfair. Even though I still haven't received my stimulus check yet, at least I get to keep my job.

Speaking of my job, my boss is impressed of my skills of keeping the company finance afloat (I suggested and manage online retail in addition to inventory management). So he's getting my hours back! Unfortunately I still have to show up since I can't manage inventories at home but the company has a very strict social distancing measures.

Edit: Also Yoshin. I'm terribly sorry to hear that. I understand landlord has their own bills to pay but that's not right. It would be better off if they offer something for those who are homeless to have a proper housing and preventing them to get infected. I'm glad to hear that you made it through from COVID19. From what I've heard based on several people who recovered, it sounds awful.

Edit: well, it is not going to be really soon but I have to wait for few more months before I can move.

lol landlords' bills and tenants' bills are completely incomparable tho
if a landlord misses a mortgage payment (which is what most of them put their rent income towards), he will still have shelter next month
if a tenant misses a rent payment, he will be homeless and have no claim on the property he rented regardless of how much he paid previously
landlords' property is basically independently financed by tenants in exchange for virtually nothing

landlords can get rekt lmao

I am doing well here in California, not much has changed in my routine. I made a preference to stay inside pretty often, but now with the societal shift it's only amplified. I can count on my hands the times I've left the house since February 1st.

Back in the end of January I was scheduled to go back to school, but got sick with a pretty nasty... flu? The symptoms I had were much like the flu, but I had what I would call hallucinations because of how plain bizarre the thoughts and ruminations I had while trying to rest in bed. This was nothing I've ever experienced, so I'm assuming I actually had COVID-19 back then, in January.

Well, in Ireland there was actually a ' mysterious cough ' that afflicted a lot of people back in January that puzzled doctors ( I fortunately didn't get it ) and may have in actual fact been Covid 19 way before it officially became a pandemic so yes that is quite possible.
