Hardly. It's like, NSMBU got ragged on by everyone even though it's pretty good in a vacuum, but outside of that vacuum it's the fourth title in a series that hasn't been new since 2009. Even in a vacuum, Super Crown Land is not very good. In context, it's Hello's third 3D fangame yet it feels like a Mario Prism asset flip with only slight improvements and controversial memes and anime thrown in. How is it in any way surprising that'd frustrate people?

You tend to be more forgiving towards someone who's just getting into a new game engine, in comparison to someone who has made 3 extremely similar games in a row, all sharing the same issues.

well if that 3d platformer has crap controls and level design then yeah it's gonna get low scores lol nothing weird about that

the reviews also mention his previous work so it's not like newcomers would look at it and think "man they're being really harsh for completely no reason"

it legitimately had a higher engagement than most of the crap existing in the site for me. i've earned 8 stars and intend on getting all 24. it isn't good, any half the people in this thread can attest to my vocal complaints i had streaming it, but its a straight improvement on his past two 3d games.

it still doesn't excuse your poopy attitude towards it; especially your whiny discord announcement. is it appropriate for me to rate low content by someone i despise? i can't change your opinion if you seriously are standing by a minimum score, but i disagree with that and you've poisoned the well of belief in your ability to actually judge something well.

Am I? I think the game is genuinely terrible though, this has nothing to do with my history with Hello. I'm just not being easy on it, and being harsher with my feedback because of it. After all, who Hello is doesn't change the terrible experience I've had.

I'm sure the same is the case with a lot of other people too.

if you go to the point of absurd extremes and harassing and only undo that due to the backlash of it with snark, you've poisoned the good will you have of being taken seriously on the matter of inspecting the game. right now, i'd say its a 4/10 tops and i can't see the game doing anything to improve that, nor witnessed such from despair or twofinger playing it.

Yeah honestly I hate it too. Not even being disingenuous, I really hate Mario Prism and Crown Land. They control awfully (I guess Crown Land is slightly improved in that area but it's still hella jank) and the level design is so basic and unfocused, so I can see why people would rate it so low. I enjoyed Paper Mario 3D Land more and I don't even like that game very much lul
